Initial Drafts
At the beginning of this project, my small team of 4 designers all pitched a few drafts and ideas to our supervisors, ASI higher-ups, and student government officials. I came up with the two main concepts below: one with calming plants for a study space, and the other with illustrations eliciting Cal Poly pride in a chill blue vibe.
My supervisors liked the Cal Poly pride draft, but wanted to see it in a different color so I created the draft to the left and they subsequently chose to head in my direction for the project.
Finals
Under extremely tight timelines, we got to this final version very quickly! I enjoyed the previous color schemes from my drafts, but my clients eventually pushed keeping the graphic in our green and gold brand colors for a total Cal Poly look and feel.
Each pane of glass was strangely a slightly different size, so the company we worked with initially measured the windows incorrectly. So, I went up on a ladder under pressure to measure the windows myself! So, I I took a few screenshots of how I made my artboards in Illustrator ensuring accurate measurements and consistency between window panes.
